Test Track 3.0: EPCOT’s High-Speed Makeover 🚗⚡
The Future of Thrills: Inside EPCOT’s New Test Track
Buckle up, Disney fans—Test Track at EPCOT has entered its third generation, and this latest version is smoother, sleeker, and more futuristic than ever!
Originally opening in 1999, Test Track replaced the World of Motion, bringing guests into the world of automotive testing with high-speed thrills. Over the years, the ride has evolved—first into a digital, design-your-own-car experience in 2012 (2.0)—and now into Test Track 3.0, where Disney and Chevrolet showcase the electric and futuristic cars of tomorrow.
What’s New in 3.0?
Queue Line Glow-Up: The queue is now a futuristic showroom, featuring unique electric concept cars that look like they drove straight out of a sci-fi movie. The lighting and colors highlight the sleek automotive designs, creating a premium experience before you even board.
Immersive Visuals: The ride itself hasn’t changed in track layout, but the projections and digital effects have gone next-level. You’ll race through glowing forests, cityscapes, and futuristic corridors featuring flying cars and electric highways.
The Thrill Remains: That outdoor finale loop? It still pushes nearly 70 mph, delivering the rush Disney fans love.
Our Review:
This update feels fresh and exciting, blending nods to the original World of Motion with a polished, modern vision of the future. The thrill remains, but now it’s wrapped in an even more immersive story about innovation and technology.

Did You Know?
World of Motion Tribute: Test Track replaced World of Motion in 1999, but Imagineers kept subtle nods to its history, including references in the queue and ride visuals.
Top Speed: Test Track remains the fastest ride at Walt Disney World, hitting speeds close to 70 mph.
Interactive Origins: The 2012 version (Test Track 2.0) allowed guests to design their own custom cars, which influenced their ride experience.
Ride Tip of the Week:
Want to skip the long lines? Test Track often breaks down in the afternoon due to weather or technical resets, so rope-drop it first thing in the morning or grab a Lightning Lane through Genie+ early. Pro tip: If it rains, wait nearby—lines are shortest right after it reopens!
