Parkling Post ~ July Edition

Goodbye to Tom Sawyer Island... Hello to Piston Peak national Park!

Big Changes are rolling into Magic Kingdom!

Disney just announced that Tom Sawyer Island, Liberty Square Riverboat, and Rivers of America will be closing— but don’t worry, it’s all part of Magic Kingdom’s largest expansion ever. This reimagining promises a thrilling new adventure that blends Disney magic with natural wonder and Pixar charm!

What’s Coming?

Say hello to Piston Peak National Park, a brand-new land inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Cars universe — but with a twist! Unlike Radiator Springs in California, this new area will immerse guests in a breathtaking wilderness filled with:

🌲Towering trees

🏔Snowcapped mountains

🌊Roaring rivers and waterfalls

💥Geysers galore

At the heart of it all? A rustic visitor lodge, Ranger HQ, winding nature trails, and an off-road rally attraction that promises action-packed fun.

Fun Fact: The park’s architecture will reflect real National Park Service design — blending beautifully into the Rocky Mountain-inspired backdrop!

Trees will serve as natural borders between Piston Peak and the rest of Frontierland and Liberty Square, helping the magic unfold seamlessly across the lands.

What’s Next?

This is just the beginning! Magic Kingdom is also planning a Villains-themed area as part of the major expansion beyond Big Thunder Mountain. The future looks wicked cool!

Stay tuned, Parklings — adventure is just around the riverbend!
